Dear supporters of Koolhof Earth,
Koolhof Earth and our Benedictine partners thank every one of our supporters for your commitment to our ambitious energy retrofit project! Your support of our first major fundraising effort has been very encouraging. Most especially, we are thankful to our many very generous sponsors and their commitment to improving Emmanuel Monastery’s energy efficiency. We knew from the outset this was an ambitious project. Our goal was to raise $180,000 for environmentally friendly energy retrofits for the monastery in addition to the cost of the Gala. Community support for this project has been outstanding! However, it appears unlikely that donations and ticket sales will pay for both the Gala and the retrofits.
Koolhof Earth’s Board of Directors unanimously decided that our priority must be to deliver effective energy saving retrofits to the monastery. Accordingly, the Board decided to cancel the Gala, but to proceed with the online auction and ask for your continued support to fund these needed retrofits. Our immediate objective is to deliver energy efficient windows, insulation, waterproofing, flue dampers, programmable thermostats, energy star appliances, and solar power as we planned.
There is much more to do and we very much need your continued help and support to make this project a reality. The good news is that all existing sponsors, donors, and ticket purchasers with whom we have spoken thus far remain committed to this project. We are grateful for each of them – many thanks!! We hope others will remain committed to this worthy project as we talk with them individually.
While there will not be a Gala, the online auction will continue as planned. Details about the auction will be announced in a separate e-mail and on the website: http://koolhofearth.org/give-back-gala-2/gala/
Koolhof Earth is focused on promoting and enabling environmental restoration and sustainability. This project is all about restoration, stewardship and sustainability. Your financial support is a vital part of our plan to deliver sustainable environmental restoration and to make a real difference in the lives of the Benedictine Sisters of Emmanuel Monastery.
Together, we are making a difference!
